Zoe A. Thiessen (Reindahl)
Birth date: February 22, 1953
Death date: April 16, 2012
MCFARLAND/OREGON – Zoe Ann (Reindahl) Thiessen, age 59, passed away Monday, April 16, 2012. She held on to life for seven years following a serious car accident in 2005. She surpassed all medical expectations and lived the remainder of her life with strength and grace. Zoe was born Feb. 22, 1953, in Madison. She was the daughter of Beverly and Willis Reindahl. She attended Oregon schools, graduating in 1971. She worked at Wisconsin Power & Light (Alliant Energy) for 30 years, working her way up to Assistant Engineering Project Designer. She married Douglas Thiessen on Aug. 3, 1973, in Madison, and they had two children who were the light of her life. Her true passion was her family and she loved spending time doing anything with them, whether going on vacations, outings up north at the lake or just simply playing a board game or watching a movie at home. She loved going to Vegas with her family to play the slot machines and shop with her winnings. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends, laughing and having a good time. Her favorite quote was “live, laugh, love” and that is how she lived her life. Zoe was a true giver and was the sunshine to everyone’s life she touched. She lived life to the fullest and was forever on the go. She was always there to help anyone in need and asked for nothing in return. Her kind and selfless ways were amazing to all who knew her. Zoe left us too soon but was with us as long as she was able, showing us the strength, kindness, humor and love that we can carry with us for the rest of our lives. She is survived by her husband, Doug Thiessen of Verona; children, Amy (Will) Torgeson and Quinn Thiessen, both of Los Angeles, Calif.; her parents, Willis and Beverly Reindahl; sister, Karen Reindahl; and brother, Rick (Robin) Reindahl, all of Oregon; special niece, Cheyanna Ragan, of Oklahoma City; special friends, Marietta Chan and Vicci Williams; as well as many in-laws, nieces, nephews, co-workers and friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Pamela Ragan of Rush Springs, Okla.; grandparents, Peter and Allie Peterson of Woodville, and Victor and Eva Reindahl of Oregon. A celebration of Zoe’s life will be held at ST. JOHN’S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 625 E. Netherwood, Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 23, 2012, with Pastor Paul E. Markquart presiding. Special thanks to the excellent caregivers and medical staff for the loving care they provided Zoe. The people responsible for Zoe’s care became a part of the Thiessen/Reindahl family. God saw you were getting tired And it was not meant to be, So he put his arms around you And whispered, “come to me.'' With tearful eyes we watched you And saw you pass away, Although we loved you dearly We could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating Hardworking hands at rest God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.
