Obituary:
MADISON- Gale P. Foster, age 57, passed away on Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, after a brief battle with cancer. She was born on March 18, 1954, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Walter and Jean (Schroeder) Roeming. Gale graduated from Edgewood High School in 1972. On June 23, 1979, she was united in marriage to Greg Foster. Gale worked as the Vice President of Administrative Services for Wisconsin Realtors Association. Since starting with the company in 1978 using a manual record keeping system… no computers, she moved the Association into a highly sophisticated accounting, membership, RPAC, legal hotline, inventory, registration and internet system that is completely integrated. Because of Wisconsin Realtors Association’s success, Gale was instrumental in working with NAR, State Associations and Local Boards to help them implement the National REALTORS Database and E-Commerce Systems. She also helped run the local family business, Snap Fitness of Sun Prairie. Gale enjoyed spending her time in her garden and baking. She was especially known for her Christmas cookies. Gale was very supportive of her children’s sports from spending many hours at ice rinks to beautiful days outside watching cross country and track meets. This past summer Gale was an instrumental player on the family slow pitch softball team. Gale was a member of St. Dennis Catholic Church. She will be missed by her husband of 32 years, Greg; daughter, Sarah (Roger) Lippitt of Sun Prairie, who are expecting Gale’s first grandchild; son, Shane Foster of McFarland; mother, Jean Roeming of Madison; sister, Robin (Robert) Burch of Eau Claire; brothers, Scott (Georgia) Roeming of Verona and Curt Roeming of Monona; mother-in-law, Louise Foster of Madison; sisters-in-law, Rita Quast of Madison and Faye (Jay Funkhouser) Foster of Cleveland, Ohio; nieces and nephews, Matt and Allison Quast, Jarrod and Adam Katon, Ryan Roeming, and Grant and Shanda Roeming. Gale was preceded in death by her father, Walter Roeming; father-in-law, Don Foster; sister-in-law, Linda Foster; and brother-in-law, Steve Quast. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, at 11 a.m., on Saturday, March 3, 2012, with Father Kent Schmitt presiding.
