MADISON-Jean L. Lewis, age 79, passed away on Friday, May 4, 2012. She was born on August 13, 1932, in Madison, the daughter of Kathryn and Clifford Sandley. She married Rod Oliver on July 24, 1996, in Madison. Jean worked as a seamstress and silk finisher for One Hour Martinizing, Halversons Dry Cleaning, and Best Way Cleaners. She also owned and operated Nobles Restaurant and worked at the Esquire Club. Jean was an excellent cook and loved hosting family get-togethers. She also enjoyed music. Jean had a heart of gold and thoroughly loved doing things for others. Jean is survived by husband, Rod; children, Connie Taylor and Cathi Taylor both of Sacramento, Calif., Christi (Dan) Scholl of Green Lake, and Roberta (Bobby) Mowles of Oklahoma City, Okla.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Linda Johnson and sister-in-law, Donna Sandley both of Madison. She was preceded in death by parents; brother, Jim Sandley; daughter, Kim Johnson; and son-in-law, Ken Johnson. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2012. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from noon until the time of service on Wednesday. Memorials may be directed to the family. The family wishes to extend a thank-you to the staff at UW Hospital for the special care they gave to Jean.
