I was saddened to hear of Rich's death. It hit me deeply as I wished I could have spent some time with him in his later days. So I say goodbye to an old friend and pray we will meet again.

As an 18 year old UW Madison student in 1970, Richard gave me my start! I worked 80 to 100 hours per week and Richard would be there bringing me food and encouragement during the busy planting, de-tasseling, and harvest seasons. He also gave me a position after graduation. He taught me many things about business and life. He was my first mentor. Family members should be very proud of how he lived his life! Richard will be in my prayers. Respectfully, Steve Venden

Though I do not recall ever meeting Mr. Blaney personally, I have seen the fruits of his labor and they are abundant and beautiful. May he reap his eternal reward and know the eternal bliss of Christ in the company of the angels and saints, and the gratitude of a deeply indebted community still on its way to that bliss. God grant you all peace and joy. - Olivia

I wish the extended Blaney family much joy in recalling memories of Richard and much pride in knowing what a wonderful example he was to me and others as a man of great Catholic faith and action. Although I knew him only briefly, I remember his passion, his kindness, his welcoming spirit, and his perseverance.
But most importantly, I am forever indebted to him for encouraging a habit of regular Eucharistic Adoration in my life - without which I would be at significant spiritual risk and a much less effective soldier in the Church Militant. I am so thankful for Richard's fiat in responding to God's call to bring awareness of and opportunity for Eucharistic Adoration to myself and many others in the Madison area, which he clearly did in humility and "A.M.D.G." God Bless.

Dear Blaney Family,
Please accept our prayers and condolences at this sad time of the loss of your husband, father, and grandfather, Richard.
Mr. Blaney lived a beautiful and glorious life with his example of love and fidelity to his family and to Jesus Christ and his Church. He was such a help to so many of us as an evangelist, teaching us the way of the Lord Jesus, and providing such a wonderful means to grow close to Him with the adoration chaple of Holy Redeemer! Richard will surely not lose his reward (cf. Mk 10:42).
May this very good and faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ, rest in peace.
With many prayers and love,
Patrick & Anna Delaney
