MADISON-Cleve “Bumpa” Shaw, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at Hospice. He was born on Aug. 1, 1936, in the town of Utica, the son of Isolene (Henthorn) and Leon Shaw. Cleve graduated from Boscobel High School in 1954. He served in the U. S. Army from 1959 until 1961. Cleve married Jane Lorenz on Sept. 11, 1965. He worked for University of Wisconsin Hospital as an x-ray technician supervisor, retiring in 1991. Cleve enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling, softball, and watching football and hockey. Cleve is survived by his wife, Jane; children, Tim (Laura) Shaw of Berkeley, Calif., and Jodi (Scott) Antoine of Mount Morris, Ill.; grandchildren, Anthony and Caitlin Antoine, Shantel (Anthony) Newcomer, Amanda Lynch and Jordan MacKay; great-grandchild, Patrick Newcomer; Bumpa’s favorite dog, Shelby; siblings, Wanda Blum of Monroe, Dale (Mieko) Shaw of Clovis, N. M., and Ruby (Charles) Karpelenia of Cottage Grove; sisters-in-law, Jeannine Shaw and Rosemary Thompson; and many nieces, nephews and special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Norma Borland; and brothers, Larry and Alan Shaw. Funeral services will be held at SUN PRAIRIE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 702 North St., Sun Prairie, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 6, 2010, with the Rev. Scott Carlson presiding. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday, March 5, 2010. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HospiceCare Inc.

Funeral services will be held at SUN PRAIRIE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 702 North St., Sun Prairie, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 6, 2010, with the Rev. Scott Carlson presiding.
