NEW BERLIN/MONONA-Lorraine M. Erickson, age 86, died on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010.  She was a resident of Heritage Deer Creek Assisted Living in New Berlin, and formerly a long-time resident of Monona.  She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 57 years, Lawrence H. Erickson. After he retired from GTE they traveled extensively and spent the winter months in Arizona.  Later they relocated to New Berlin to be closer to family.  Lorraine will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She was a talented seamstress, and enjoyed music, dancing, camping, and traveling, but especially enjoyed spending time with her family.  She is survived by her loving children, Ann (Rex) Hutcheson, Jean (Jerry) Murr, Mary (Mark) Treadaway, David (Micaela) Erickson, and Donna Geiger;
seven grandchildren, Joy Adams (Greg Osburn), Jill (John) Stadtmueller, Nicole Treadaway, Laura (Kurt) Beres, and Weston, Kaela, and Camille Erickson; two great-grandchildren, Devon Eckermann and Sienna Stadtmueller.  A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, with Father John Meinholz presiding.  Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the time of the service.  Memorial contributions can be made to Brandon Overholt, a special caregiver at Heritage Assisted Living.  Brandon is pursuing his degree in medicine, specializing in Geriatric and Palliative Care.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Heritage Assisted Living and Vitas Hospice Care.
