MADISON-Becky Tempel, age 63, passed away surrounded by family at home on Wednesday May 9, 2012, after a three year battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on Sept. 11, 1948, in Baraboo. Becky attended Madison West High School and Memorial High School. She lived her life loving and caring for everyone she knew; spending many years taking care of children in her home while also being a stay at home mom. Becky had a love for life. Her family (and many others that would consider her to be a second mom) were with her until the end. Becky loved fishing in Hayward, watching cooking shows, and being with family. Her greatest loves in life were her grandchildren. Becky was married for 41 wonderful years to the love of her life, Gene Tempel. She is survived by her husband; her children, Gene (Melissa) Tempel, Brad Tempel, Shannon (Matt) Brown, and Jason Tempel; 11 grandchildren, Amber, Ben, Bradley, Anna, Emily, Lani, Maya, Masami, Molly, Nick and Samantha; and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Richard; sisters, Billy Jean, Linda, and Jerri; and many cousins, nieces and nephews who loved her very much. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Shirley Wilfong; and brother, Jim Wilfong. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 1150 Park Street, Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2012. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m on Monday, May 14, 2012. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carbone Cancer Center at UW Hospital.
