MADISON-Greta Ann Bendixen, age 85, of Madison, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at UW Hospital. She carried a wealth of knowledge. She also had a love for music. Greta was known for performances of oratorio and sacred music soprano solos. She attended Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, University of Oslo in Norway, and UW-Madison. Greta earned her M.S. in Counseling and Student Services and her B.A. in English and History. She belonged to National Professional Honor Societies-Pi Lambda Theta, Delta Epsilon Sigma, and Sigma Alpha Iota. Greta also volunteered for many civic, community, and church groups. She was a professor at Edgewood College and Madison Business College. Greta made an impact and will not be forgotten. She is survived by good friends and caretakers, Mariana and Norma Hakim. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorial services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 11, 2012.
