MADISON-Gary G. Hustad, age 58, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at his home. He was born on Feb. 25, 1954, in Madison. Gary graduated from Madison East High School in 1972. He married Holly Harbort on June 11, 1976, in Madison. Gary earned his Mortuary Science degree in Milwaukee. He was employed at Gunderson Funeral Homes for more than 32 years. Gary enjoyed fishing, hunting, hockey and cooking. His favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Holly; daughter, Melissa (Noah) Nienstedt of Menomenee Falls; grandsons, Mason and Liam; sister, Georgina Ruck of Edgerton; mother-in-law, Dorothy Harbort of Waunakee; brothers-in-law, Craig (Linda) Harbort and John C. (Deb) Harbort; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, John Harbort; and brother-in-law, Bill Ruck. Memorial services will be held at MESSIAH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5202 Cottage Grove Road, Madison, at 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2012, with the Rev. Jeff Vanden Heuvel presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 2 p.m. until the time of service on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established at a later date.
