MADISON-Douglas C. Stebbins, age 55, of Madison, passed away on Monday, April 23, 2012, at Agrace HospiceCare. He was born on Oct. 1, 1956, in Madison, the son of Russell Stebbins and Joyce (Guetzke) Snell. Doug graduated from East High School in 1974, and was in the top 10 percent of his class. He then went to study at MATC and UW-Madison. Doug worked as a language translater and social worker for Dane County. He was an active C.L.A. board member and was dedicated to being an advocate for the disabled. Doug was a loving father to his only child, Christina, and proud grandfather to his only grandchild, Delano Jr. Doug is survived by his daughter, Christina Stebbins of Madison; grandson, Delano V. Bingham Jr. of Madison; mother, Joyce Snell of Madison; and brother, Tim (Laura) Stebbins of North Lauderdale, Fla. He was preceded in death by his father, Russell. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2012. A memorial visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the time of service on Thursday.
