OREGON-Susan I. Madsen, age 67, of Oregon, passed away on Monday, Feb. 20, 2012. She was born on Dec. 13, 1944, in Madison, the daughter of Forest “Steve” and Emma Madsen. Susan graduated from Oregon High School in 1963. Susan is survived by two sisters, Rita Kluever of Oregon, and Betty Cahoon of Iowa City, Iowa; 12 nieces and nephews, Connie (Maude) Jones of Hamilton, N.Y., Steve Jones of Madison, Jeff (Jenny) Cahoon of Lafayette, Ind., Tim (Tina) Kluever of Ogdensburg, Brad (Delilah) Cahoon of Iowa City, Iowa, Todd (Jenny) Kluever of Fitchburg, Robin Jones of West Orange, N.J., Debbie (Greg) Schraeder of Bellevue, Neb., Terry (Allen) Kluever of Waupun, John (Becky) Cahoon of Iowa City, Iowa, Doug (Ashley) Cahoon of Iowa City, Iowa, Trina (David) Pauli of Belleville; one brother-in-law, Harold (Ann) Jones of Houston, Texas; and several great-nieces and great- nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Barbara Jones; brothers-in-law, Larry Cahoon and Ralph Kluever. Funeral services will be held at PEOPLE’S UNITED METHODIST CHURCH,103 Alpine Pkwy., Oregon, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, with the Rev. Sara Thiessen presiding. Burial will be at Prairie Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 1150 Park Street, Oregon, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, and at the church from noon until the time of service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the People’s United Methodist Church, Oregon Area Senior Center or the Oregon Historical Society.
