FITCHBURG-David A. “Casey” Jones, age 68, of Fitchburg, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012, at his home. He was born on June 14, 1943, on the family farm, the son of Lester C. and Anna P. (Schneider) Jones. He married Christine E. Stone on June 20, 1975, in Oregon. Casey worked for Lappley Implements and later for the City of Fitchburg for more than 35 years, retiring in 2008. He also farmed his whole life in the Oregon and Fitchburg area. Casey was an avid collector of antique farm equipment and farm toys. He is survived by his wife, Christine; daughter, Candie (Kelly Miller) Jones of Belleville; son, Doug (Carrie) Jones of Darlington; four grandchildren, Sarah, Brittany, Tom and Jenna Jones; special nephew and loyal farm helper, Russ (Marsha) Jones and his sons, Russell and Marc; brothers, Francis Jones and John (Debbie) Jones of Fitchburg; brother-in-law, John Ryan; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Helen Ryan; nephew, Gary; nieces, Connie and Julie; and his beloved pets. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 1150 Park Street, Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012. Burial will be at Prairie Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dane County Humane Society.
