MADISON/WAUNAKEE – Ralph "JJ" Vosskamp, 44, passed away on Fri., May 25 following a brave and courageous two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Calif. Following high school, JJ proudly served four years in the U.S. Navy, stationed in Pearl Harbor. JJ completed his undergraduate degree in International Business from San Jose State University. He later relocated to Madison, WI where he completed Law School and received his JD as well as his MBA from UW-Madison. JJ worked for several years in private equity, but was currently the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Cascade Asset Management. He was united in marriage to Caryn Cox on Oct. 25, 2003. They were blessed with two beautiful daughters; Grace, age 7 and Chloé, age 2. JJ enjoyed traveling, woodworking, spending time at the cabin in Hayward, and annual trips to Door County. His favorite travels with Caryn included Seattle, New Orleans, London, their engagement in Paris, and honeymoon in Barcelona. JJ’s ultimate joy in life was spending time with his “favorite girls”. He will always be remembered as an adoring husband and father, but also as the guy who brought out the best in everyone who knew him. JJ is survived by his loving wife, Caryn; daughters, Grace Maria and Chloé Anna; his mother, Carmen Garrido; father, Hans Vosskamp; and brother, Mark Vosskamp. A Celebration of Life will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., on Saturday, June 2, 2012, at 11a.m. with Chaplain Bob Pfennig presiding. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 1, 2012, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
