MIDDLETON/ARENA-Kay Louise Bakken Smith, age 50, passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2012. She was born on October 30, 1961 in Madison , the daughter of Robert and Harriet (Nelson) Bakken. A graduate of Middleton High School. Kay worked for a local credit union. Kay is survived by her children, Kaitlyn and Garrett Christian; her father, Robert (Carol) Bakken ; sister, Brenda (Joseph) Ziegler all of Middleton; brother, Dan Bakken of Arena and nieces and nephews, Benjamin and Vince Ziegler and Holly and Samuel Bakken. She was preceded in death by her mother, Harriet Bakken and her husband, Matthew Smith. Funeral services will be held at GRACE EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1 South Rosa Road, Madison at 7:00 PM on Monday, May 14, 2012 with the Reverends Theodore Gullixson and Brad Homan presiding. Visitation will be on Monday from 5:00 PM until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family for a fund to be established for Kay’s children.
